What is the World Meeting of Families?
The World Meeting of Families is an international event sponsored by the Pontifical Council on the Family and held every three years. It is the single, largest gathering of families in the world. September 2015 will be the first time the event has ever been held in the United States and it is an historic opportunity. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is hosting the event and has produced a wealth of resources and opportunities to encourage participation. The Diocese of St. Augustine will be promoting this event as well as its many themes with local activities, initiatives, and events.
Stay tuned for more as it develops!

Prayer for the World Meeting
God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Savior, you have made us your sons and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every part of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of the Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!
A special document, called a preparatory catechism, has been produced for the World Meeting of Families and contains the theme and teachings of the Church on marriage and family life as a focus of the event.
